It is hard to overstate the joys and the intense challenges that come with parenting adoptive or foster children. Many couples find themselves overwhelmed and just doing what they can to survive each day. Battling shame, guilt, weariness parents can isolated and without support from those who know what to say and what not to say or do. We have been there and know the pain and struggles that come with the unique stories and trauma of adoptive and foster children.
This cohort is for adoptive and foster parents who need support and help but can’t make it to a counselors office. This is for the parents who feel alone. This is for couples who feel like they are on different pages from one another and wonder if their marriage will survive. This is for parents who are beginning to check out, looking forward in an unhealthy way to when their kids are grown up and out of the house.
In our cohort we will provide support, encouragement, and gospel-centered hope. We will provide resources as well as help work towards a game plan for moving forward practically with our children. This won’t be a 3 step silver bullet but will aim to provide each couple in their unique circumstances with space to consider what best fits their family and children’s needs.
This cohort will involve personal coaching as well as teaching. Each month we’ll focus on a new topic, exploring content and case studies with time for Q&A. Participants will have access to a private group to share and support one another.
