“A gentleman got shot nine times outside my back door.”
Marti, forty-two years old and single, followed God’s calling to move into an inner-city neighborhood in Richmond, VA almost seven years ago in order to help bring the hope of the gospel to a poverty and crime stricken part of town.
Listen as she tells stories of hope and joy found in the midst of people being shot and kids being arrested for murder. It has been a difficult journey, but she is seeing redemption and restoration happening in her own life and in the lives of those around her.
These stories were recorded at the Verge 2012 Conference in Austin, Texas. They represent everyday people doing everyday things on mission to advance the gospel in their cities.
