The Future Church – Hugh Halter

Hugh Halter continues Verge Network’s The Future Church series by answering the question, “What is the future of the church in America today?”

He says, “I think our normal church experience is going away. At the present pace of people leaving the church in about ten years we’ll be as unchurched as Europe or the UK, Australia, Canada or Portland, Oregon. So, I think we’re going to have to all get used to Christianity not being in the mainstream anymore. I personally think that’s going to be a benefit, because then we’re just people that follow Jesus and we can learn a new way of being the church together. I see it as a huge opportunity.”

Over the next few weeks Verge Network will be running a series of posts on The Future Church.
