Says who? What verse in the Bible says this? Maybe a better way to say this is, “When you suffer, you should be at peace.” Because I know God allows suffering in my life to help me grow, I need to be at peace with His choice to allow that suffering and try to learn from it.

Matt. 13:21 … When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.
      Not “if” but “when.”
2Tim. 3:12 In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. Not “maybe” but “will be.”

Living comfortable is not the same as being comforted in this life. If we live without any persecution, it seems that we may indeed be doing something wrong, like compromising with the world somehow.

Why does the bible says that he sent us the Comforter?  Why does he give us perfect peace? Of course trials and tribulations will come, but we have to go through them with faith knowing that our God has conquered them already.  You make it seem as though its wrong if we live in comfort.  I have the comforter living inside of me and I know that God wants me to have peace.  Even in hard times, we should shout with joy.

Having peace and being comfortable are completely different things. We can have peace by being uncomfortable and persecuted because we know that death is only the beginning.  I think what he means by this is becoming still in our walk with Christ, once we become still and unable to grow because we are in a comfortable place in life, thats when we worship our worldly life more than Christ. Great comment, it has stirred in me a lot of thought! :) Â
